About

Over the last several years, I have had the privilege of providing Positive Discipline Workshops to hundreds of child care providers and early childhood educators.

Due to the enthusiasm of so many of the workshop participants and in response to their eagerness for further information and materials to help them implement Positive Discipline concepts in their early childhood settings, I have created the “Positive Child Care Model and Program”.

My wish is that it will prove invaluable as caregivers and early childhood educators endeavor to offer best practices for the children in their care.

Ruth Buffam

I have an educational background in early childhood and educational psychology and have spent over 20 years working with young children in various settings which include regular and special education classrooms.  My husband and I have raised 3 sons and are experiencing the joy of grand parenting!

A few years ago I discovered the Positive Discipline Program by Dr. Jane Nelsen and Lynn Lott.  A while later, I met and took training from Jane Nelsen.  Through Jane’s support & friendship, I developed a website positivediscipline.ca with the goal of making Positive Discipline resources more accessible to Canadians.

As a Positive Discipline Trainer, I now dedicate the majority of my work life to educating childcare providers, parents & teachers about Positive Discipline.

I would be delighted to bring a workshop and accompanying resources to your child care setting! Please check out this website for further information about what I can offer you or your organization and please contact me if you require further information.
